Well, today is... today. I took both my son and daughter in to the dentist. My daughter thought (as I did) that she was having fillings done. Well, she and the dentist decided that her left upper and lower wisdom teeth needed to come out, since they were bugging her. Now, she is in pain, taking Vicodin every 4 hours, and generally thinking she made a bad decision. Honestly, they were going to have to come out soon anyway. But she still hurts. Damn I hate seeing my kids hurt.

OK... My weigh-in has me at 121kg (266.2 pounds). Not quite the loss I had wanted. But I have cheated a lot. And attended a major conference (Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas). I did manage to avoid all but 2 buffets. Back to putting what I eat down in a food diary... and oh yeah... I need to start walking more, now that my feet have calmed down from CES.

We finally heard from UCSF. They want Rory to see a urologist, which is supposedly the final hurdle to being transplanted. If all goes well, he is at the top of the list! Which means *maybe* he will be transplanted in the next few months! Keep your fingers crossed, and keep praying, everyone!

Taking My Weight Loss Attempt Public

Well, as of today, January 5, 2004, I am working at my weight loss and exercise plan. Why? I am extremely overweight, tired of feeling lousy, and would like to stay on this Earth as long as I can. Is this a "quick fix" fad diet? No. I am working on eating relatively healthy, using weight loss shakes for one or two meals per day, and eating healthy the remainder of the day. Total calories: 1300 (1500 while walking around the CES show floor). Here are my short term goals:

Current weight: 122kg (268.4 pounds)
Lose 10 pounds within 1 month
Exercise 3 times a week, for a half hour.

My long term goals:

Lose 110 pounds
Exercise daily
Feel better
Look better

A few days ago, there was a freak snowstorm in Las Vegas. Happens every several years or so... anyhow, here is a pic my friend Brandon took:

Not often snowmen get built in Las Vegas!

OK... just when I thought I'd seen everything, the folk at TechTV have come up with an AMMO CAN PC... yep, a full PC inside a handy, dandy, ammo can, courtesy your local war (or surplus store). To see this lovely... go to Tech TV Project YM-23

Well, Craig, a wonderful friend of mine sent me this, a Gingerbread house server... yep, you got it... a server in a real Gingerbread house.

Happy New Year!
