OK... now I am ticked off
I just received my latest Readers Digest (yeah, I read RD... what can I say? I like(d) it!). So, I peel off the plastic wrap that protects the magazine from mauling by the USPS. And I notice a TON of inserts in the magazine. Not one or two, but 14! Almost all of these are from pharmaceutical companies, wanting me to buy their drugs. One is a subscription card (There was one on the outside of the magazine as well). 14 inserts? 13 of which are DRUG companies? I am tired of pulling out all those cards just so I can read the magazine. It isn't worth it. According to others around me at the time, they seemed shocked at the amount of inserts in a tiny magazine.
Come on, RD, get a grip and stop throwing in so many inserts. Heck, I'll pay a little extra. Otherwise, when renewal time comes around, you are losing a customer. And maybe others as well, from the response I got.

My guess: RD's subscriber base skews old. And with the Medicare enrollment period opening, the pharm companies have even more reason to be pushing their products & locking in buyers.
Yeah, but sheez... I am just getting tired of it. :-)
