A very dear friend of mine died yesterday. Barbara went to dialysis with my husband (they shared a van to get to dialysis) for over 5 years. She and my husband were good friends. She was a wonderful, gentle, caring person. I will miss her greatly.

Well, I got my TC4200 on Tuesday. And I am in love. This baby is incredible. It weighs only 4.3 pounds, but has sooooo much to give!

I have been taking notes in my classes with it since Wednesday, and I love it. No more scanning my notes in after writing them on paper! And the fact that it is a convertible means that it still acts like a typical notebook PC when I need it to. It is nice!

Today's weigh-in: 258.6 (Total Loss = 20.2 pounds so far)
After a HORRID week last week (I gained 2.2 pounds), from last Wed to today, I lost 5.2 pounds. Guess starting the bicycling has paid off!

Whoops... change of plans...
The TC1100 went back to the seller... it seems that the warranty I bought wasn't the warranty I got... without it on the unit, I could not get the level of support I need, so the seller and I agreed to just call it a wash (I did get stuck for the shipping I paid for, but I am ok with that). The unit went back 10 days ago.
So, over the last week, I thought long and hard about the different tablets, why I would be using one, and HOW I would be using one. In the end, I decided that a convertible tablet is the way to go for me. I would use it 60-80% as a laptop anyway, and as a slate the rest. Keeping the keyboard with unit for me seems a natural thing.
With that, I ordered the younger brother of the TC1100, the brand new TC4200. Figured I may as well get all the bells and whistles, so I got the higher end unit. Should arrive tomorrow... I will update further at that time.

I HAVE BEEN DUMPED BY CINGULAR CORPORATE
Yep. I have had a business account with Cingular since starting with them in early 2002, courtesy Handspring, Inc. Now, with the merger of AT&T with Cingular, that has all changed.
On Tuesday, my daughter's cell phone was stolen. It was my old Motorola V400. We found out when a friend of hers called her, and got someone else on the other end. We call her number, and the "finder" demanded $50.00 for the phone that "sure looks like it is worth a lot of money". Gee, I call that extortion. When I got nowhere with the "finder", I turned off the SIM card, so they wouldn't be able to make calls, at least (Doesn't stop them from using the phone... they can just pop a new SIM card in).
Since then, I have been trying to get a replacement phone through my rep. Everytime I called the local corporate account office, I got the national folk, who denied that a corporate office even EXISTED in Sacramento. By Friday, I was livid. Not only could I not get my rep on the phone (or ANY rep for that matter), but they claimed that office was closed, and that I was no longer a business account. I decided to see for myself, and went to the location. It is still there, same people. BUT, I was informed that I would not have another rep EVER, because of restructuring since the merger. It seems accounts with less than "X" phones (They couldn't tell me how many) are no longer business accounts. It seems I am too small for them. Did they at least notify me? Nope. I can't even rate a letter from them explaining this.
Now, they have have lost... A phone sale, and account upgrade, and potentially ME AND MY 3 PHONE LINES as a customer. I am looking elsewhere for service. Heck, my Treo 650 is an unlocked unit (Back in February, I had tried to contact my rep... he didn't have any after they were available, so I bought one direct from PalmOne). And wherever I go, my kids will get new phones (We did find a phone here at the house for my daughter to use in the meantime and picked up a replacement SIM at a local store). What's keeping me with Cingular? NOTHING. HEY CINGULAR... WAKE UP!!! THERE ARE A LOT OF US "SMALL BUSINESS" CUSTOMERS, WHO ARE NOT HAPPY RIGHT NOW!

OK... I have had it. This week, I have seen the price of gas rise $0.40 per gallon (Lowest price I can find here in the Sacramento area is $2.48 per gallon). And now I hear it is $3.69 in some places (Gorda, CA). The cost of gas is out of hand. Eek. I am getting my bike back out. I can use the exercise anyway. I have a bike locker at CSUS now, and I am going to use it.
