CES, Treo update, and more
I made a semi-last-minute decision to attend CES. I was hedging on going for the last few weeks, but then was given a reason to go. Work. It was just enough to pay for me to go, so I figured, 'Why the hell not?'
I am glad I went. There wasn't a lot of OMG new hardware that got my attention, but there were a few items. You can go to Computer Reviewer Online to see some of the stuff that got my attention. I had some really good conversations with several people, mostly Palm and Tablet PC related, but these may result in some great developments in the future. I attended a gathering of Tablet PC owners at a place called Cheese Burger (which BTW makes WONDERFUL burgers!). It was nice putting a face to the people I have been conversing with this past year on TabletPCBuzz.com and StudentTabletPC.com. Especially Trevor and Rob! I discovered a pair of teenagers running a successful podcast on Tablet PC's... gotta listen to them! And although it was very short-lived, I got to see some of my family members. I miss seeing them, and only getting to once or twice a year isn't enough. Especially my niece. She is growing like a weed!
On the Treo 650: It is dead. The Bootload screen never changed with washing the salts out, and now the screen won't light up. I am resigned to the fact that I now own a $600 brick. Know anyone that has a 650 to sell cheap or donate???
Well, I guess I'd better get packed and on the road soon. See ya!
