My Treo and Nakedness

Have you ever left something at home that you normally wear, such as a hat, and felt absolutely naked? That is how I have felt the last few weeks since I killed my Treo 650. I tried to use a new cell phone (A Sony Ericsson z520a), but there are several things about it that I really don't like. Like accessing the battery compartment. And that the screen occassionally freaks out. And, oh yeah, text messaging with 9-key again. Total pain in the ass. It goes back to Cingular tomorrow.

Over this last week, I started monitoring Treo 650 auctions on Ebay. It was pretty easy to pick off the fake sellers. I decided not to worry about a new unit, unless I got a damn good price. But many of these went for $450 and up. Not a huge discount (for me, anyway). So, I started bidding on a used Treo. I found a few that I particularly liked, and bid on them. Finally got one! Paid for it Thursday, and it was shipped last Friday, the 13th. I figured with the holiday it wouldn't get here until Tuesday, but went out today to check what mail did show up yesterday, and IT WAS THERE! Ooh ooh!

Yes, the unit appears exactly as described by the seller. It seems to work just fine. I always reserve judgement for a day or so, since many of you are Treo 650 owners, and know about reset issues with some of the units. But this one isn't showing that so far. Even got a Treo BT headset and a Treo leather case in the deal. How did I pay for it? I have been selling other stuff on Ebay myself. Paid for most of it this way. Hope to pay for the rest by selling more stuff, like old textbooks.

So, now I don't feel so naked anymore. And I am not out another $600 for a new one.
